Washington's Wash & Pulaski's Hooker Named MCC Student-Athletes of the Week (Feb. 3)

Darion Wash (Washington High School) and Atavion Hooker (Pulaski High School) were named the Milwaukee City Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan. 26 – Feb. 1.

Wash averaged 19 points per game in Washington’s two wins last week, including a season-high 21 points in the Purgolders’ 79-63 victory over Obama that propelled them into first place in the MCC White Division. For the season, Wash is averaging 10.5 points per game.

Washington is now 8-1 in the MCC White Division, and has a half-game lead over second-place Obama (plus two head-to-head wins over the Cougars). The Purgolders play Saturday, Feb. 8 at The City Review at the Al McGuire Center on the campus of Marquette University. Purchase digital tickets for showcase here!

Hooker and the Pulaski Rams competed in two wrestling meets last week at Bay View and Hamilton. Hooker, wrestling in the 215-lb. weight class, finished 5-0 with four pins on the week.

Next up for Pulaski: the Milwaukee City Conference championships on Friday, Feb. 7.
